The entire production staff must follow the same route to reach the production unit. They also have access to a common cafeteria, and to get there, they must again use the same corridors.
As a result, some doors open and close hundreds of times a day.
Moreover, this flow of personnel must not be disrupted by the delivery of goods to production.
The Heinen Solution
The collaboration between the Heinen Doors team and their installation partners is a key asset in finding the best solution to the challenge.
In this case, the partner company, DS Projekten, ensured the compartmentalization of the production area from the rest of the building with fire doors.
Some of these Heinen doors undergo more than 400,000 opening and closing cycles per year.
In 15 years, the only maintenance of these doors has been replacing the hinges, the door closer, and the electric strike.
